Open Coil and Sinusoidal Strip Heaters
Open Coil and Sinusoidal Strip Heaters
The most effective, adaptable, and financially viable heating options are open coil and sinusoidal strip heating elements. These elements have quick heat-up times due to direct heat transmission to objects via radiation without the need for an insulating layer. Their open circuits are made up of coiled resistance strips or wires (often made of ferritic or Ni-chrome alloys, FeCrAl) that are fixed to an insulating body that supports it, such as ceramic fiberboard, ceramic tubes, insulation refectories, etc., and that directly heat the medium.
Stainless steel, Inconel alloys, and nickel-plated mild steel are commonly used for sheathing with reliable refractory insulation.
